Ro is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Patient Experience team as a backend-focused, product-driven role. You will own backend systems powering patient onboarding, care delivery, and insurance workflows, collaborating with Product, Design, Data, and other teams to deliver impact at scale.

You’ll refine ambiguous problems, design robust solutions, and ensure performance with observability. This role emphasizes ownership and cross-functional teamwork to ship meaningful product

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in scalable backend systems.
• Experience architecting web apps and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Python, relational DBs, and FastAPI or Django.
• Experience with metrics instrumentation and data-driven performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, reliable distributed services using Python with FastAPI or Django.
• Partner with product teams to shape requirements, metrics, and goals.
• Own features end-to-end from discovery through launch and iteration.
• Drive testing, monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to architectural vision and technical roadmap.
• Collaborate on code reviews and design documents for consistency.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure production reliability.
