Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a senior backend engineer to own Python-based AWS Lambda APIs, DynamoDB data models, and OpenSearch indexing. You will extend RBAC, implement secure, scalable backend infrastructure, and drive end-to-end delivery across deployment pipelines.

You will work with frontend (React) and infrastructure teams to ship features like location tracking, geofencing, and device transfers while leading security reviews and mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience mentoring, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience in Python and building production backend services.
• Experience with AWS serverless services (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM).
• Experience designing REST APIs, data models, and automated tests.
• Experience with security and access control design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Python (AWS Lambda) API domains and event-driven workers.
• Own the DynamoDB data model and OpenSearch indexing paths with scalable queries.
• Extend the V3 RBAC security model and manage IAM roles and permission boundaries.
• Wire backend changes through the TypeScript CDK package, including API Gateway and pipelines.
• Lead security reviews and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
• Write unit and integration tests and perform code reviews.
• Support deployment pipelines, monitoring, and on-call operations.
• Collaborate with frontend and infra teams to deliver features like location tracking and geofencing.
