Job summary

SMX in Fort Meade, MD seeks a Senior Software Developer to design secure REST and message-based interfaces, develop mission applications, and architect microservices and data-ingestion pipelines for DIA and IC environments.

You will implement automated DevSecOps testing, maintain DISA STIG compliance, monitor performance with structured telemetry, and provide mentorship through peer code reviews to uphold engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Backend languages and messaging systems experience; secure interfaces for mission systems.
• Advanced database querying and distributed search indexing.
• Containerized deployments and secure cloud/hybrid environments.
• DoD/DIA cybersecurity standards, PKI/mTLS, and secure inter-service communication.

Responsibilities

• Establish secure REST and message-based interfaces for DIA CAPs and feeds.
• Implement automated unit/integration/security testing in DevSecOps pipelines.
• Monitor performance; add telemetry and resolve bottlenecks for high availability.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform peer code reviews to ensure quality.
• Design, build, test applications and systems using AMI/SENTINEL where applicable.
• Architect and optimize backend microservices and data ingestion pipelines.
• Coordinate with ACIC platforms, PRESS data stores, and DIA environments.
