Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to tackle some of our hardest backend infrastructure challenges. You will focus on scalability, reliability, workload governance, adaptive flow control, and distributed systems.

You will build and evolve EaaS, Roblox’s managed OLTP access platform, and drive end-to-end technical execution from design through production operations. Strong Rust/Go/C++/Java skills and a CS degree with 6+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale infrastructure abstractions.
• Experience designing or operating adaptive rate limiting, flow control, reliability automation.
• Experience with distributed databases, caching, OLTP platforms.
• Experience driving complex technical initiatives end-to-end with ownership.
• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve EaaS, Roblox’s managed OLTP access platform.
• Design infrastructure that abstracts databases and caching.
• Drive reliability and scalability across distributed systems.
• Lead end-to-end technical execution for mission-critical infrastructure.
• Analyze real production traffic to improve platform reliability and scalability.
• Improve safety, observability, and deployment reliability across the stack.
• Collaborate with Roblox teams to tackle scalability challenges.
