Job summary

Google Photos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to drive backend initiatives at scale. You will contribute to building and evolving systems that support billions of users and storage journeys, while leading and mentoring teammates in a fast-paced environment.

You will work on server-side, search, storage, and machine intelligence components, collaborating with Android/iOS teams to deliver scalable, reliable software across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years testing/maintaining/launching software; 1 year in design/architecture.
• 3+ years developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and lead the backend business generation projects.
• Scope complex technical problems and guide overall backend health.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design scalable solutions.
