Aritzia is hiring a Senior Backend Developer to design, build and operate scalable API-driven services for the Digital Technology team in Seattle. You will work with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into robust backend solutions and ensure reliability during peak traffic and product drops.

Bring strong Node.js/TypeScript skills, cloud-native experience with microservices, and a focus on secure, observable systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and scaling APIs with versioning and docs.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript skills for backend systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native, microservices architectures.
• Security-focused design with OAuth2/JWT and PCI/PII basics.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, IaC (Terraform) and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services for Digital Technology.
• Translate requirements into robust API designs and reliable interfaces.
• Collaborate with product, design and other tech teams to align on goals.
• Ensure security, monitoring, logging, and high availability across services.
• Mentor teammates and help optimize development workflows and processes.
