Job summary

AmaWaterways is seeking a Sr Software Engineer Backend IC in Calabasas, CA to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services powering consumer and partner digital products. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS or related field.
• Minimum five years of backend software development experience.
• Strong experience with .NET (C#) and/or Node.js building web services and APIs.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and GraphQL; API security and authentication.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven database design with SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and caching (Redis).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug complex backend services and APIs.
• Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs exposing inventory, pricing, leads, and identity.
• Own configuration, development, and maintenance of critical services.
• Design event-driven architectures and messaging with reliability and audit trails.
• Develop and maintain caching strategies and data synchronization.
• Create design specs, technical docs, and unit tests.
• Integrate with external systems (CRM, email providers, booking systems).
• Optimize for performance, scalability, and low latency; perform profiling.
• Implement identity and access controls (OIDC/OAuth2, JWT).
• Adhere to secure coding practices; remediate vulnerabilities before release.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across Dev/UAT/Prod; on-call support.
• Mentor junior developers and communicate with technical and non-technical groups.
