Wunder in Boulder, CO seeks an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to help automate solar development, value evaluation, and loan servicing systems.

You'll work closely with the founders, product and finance teams, writing Ruby on Rails code, refining the CI/CD pipeline, and solving challenging problems at scale while advancing clean energy. This role offers impact, growth, and a fast‑moving, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering on high‑throughput systems.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Hotwire, PostgreSQL, and cloud services (AWS/Heroku).
• Strong belief in clean energy and scalable architecture.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and maintain Ruby on Rails code.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipeline for multiple daily deployments.
• Solve complex backend problems using Rails best practices and SOA.
• Collaborate with product, finance, and solar experts.
• Shape architectural direction and explore new technologies.
• Allow deep-work blocks and non-meeting time; help team grow.
