Job summary

Twilio Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale backend services with a focus on reliability, availability, scalability, and performance. This remote-first role embraces home-based collaboration and may require occasional travel to team meetings.

You will work with Java/Scala, AWS, and SDK/GraphQL technologies to deliver scalable systems and developer-facing capabilities across Twilio’s products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating cloud-scale backend systems.
• Strong programming skills in backend languages such as Java or Scala.
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain large-scale backend services with a focus on reliability, availability, scalability, and performance.
• Champion high-quality engineering practices, including automated testing, maintainable code, and thorough documentation.
