Job summary

Alldus in New York is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design scalable Python/Go services for real-time neurological data and clinical workflows. You will work with ML engineers to productionize models and ensure low-latency, reliable inferences in a regulated healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include building APIs, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring platform reliability with monitoring and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in building and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong Python development, including testing and asyncio.
• Hands-on with event-driven or stream processing (partitioning, backpressure).
• Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes.
• Relational database design and query optimisation.
• Proactive, resourceful approach turning ambiguity into reliable services.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Go for networked/low-latency services; Azure Event Hubs/Service Bus/AKS
• Knowledge of Arrow/Parquet, large-scale data engineering.
• Experience with PyTorch healthcare tech or regulated software.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python and Go services to process and deliver real-time neurological data.
• Develop data models, ingestion pipelines and retention policies for high-frequency time-series data.
• Create and enhance APIs that underpin clinical workflows.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to productionize models and ensure inference reliability.
• Improve platform performance with monitoring, capacity planning and incident reviews.
• Build software that meets regulated medical device standards, including cybersecurity and change control.
• Own delivery from requirements to deployment and ongoing support.
