KMC Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to design, build, and scale backend systems powering AI-driven healthcare platforms. You will own end-to-end backend architecture, ensure reliability at scale, and mentor engineers across the team.

You will architect services with Python/FastAPI, optimize data models in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and deploy secure RESTful APIs. This remote role requires strong problem solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with Python.
• Strong expertise in FastAPI and REST API design.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and cloud-native deployments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and scale backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data models across PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for data-intensive and AI-driven services.
• Implement authentication, authorization, caching, and performance best practices.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, observability, and high availability of production systems.
• Lead code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with frontend, AI, data, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments on AWS.
