Job summary
Veeva Ostro is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and deliver scalable services powering our SaaS platform. You will balance rapid delivery with long-term code health, emphasizing clean architecture, rigorous testing, and low technical debt to support growth.
You'll partner with product, data, and frontend teams to ship impactful features, optimize performance, and evaluate new technologies. This role offers strong collaboration, remote flexibility, and opportunities to influence engineering
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code for B2B or B2C SaaS products.
- 5+ years of deep expertise in Python and Django
- Strong proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Architect and scale high-performance APIs for Veeva Ostro’s SaaS platform
- Partner cross-functionally to design and ship new features
- Provide technical feedback on product roadmaps and feature scoping
- Champion quality through peer reviews, unit testing, and clean architecture
- Optimize application and database performance to handle growth
- Evaluate emerging backend technologies to improve engineering practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve live system issues to maximize uptime
