The World's Identity Company is hiring a Senior Back-End Software Engineer to own scalability, efficiency, and service protection for our Identity as a Service platform. You will build traffic-shaping frameworks and tooling to locate latency bottlenecks and support large customers.

You will work with SRE, DB Reliability Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure secure, high-performance software while contributing to RCA analyses and long-term mitigations.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of software development with strong knowledge of Java and JVM internals.
• Strong MySQL and Hibernate experience, including query optimization.
• Proven ability to diagnose latency, throughput, and scaling bottlenecks in SaaS.
• Hands-on experience with profiling/observability tools like JFR, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement backend frameworks that protect and optimize resources (rate limiting, traffic shaping, concurrency controls, query timeouts).
• Monitor production latency, throughput and resource utilization; create metrics, dashboards and alerts via tooling.
• Analyze latency and scalability bottlenecks end-to-end including JVM profiling and SQL plans; drive fixes in code and config.
• Perform capacity and cost-efficiency analyses; support onboarding of large customers and high-traffic events.
• Advise engineering teams on scalable design; review PRs and SQL changes for latency and scale impact.
• Explore AI-driven tooling, automated diagnostics, and intelligent monitoring to accelerate investigations and reduce toil.
• Write high-quality unit and functional tests; participate in design and code reviews to maintain engineering bar.
• Participate in on-call rotations for latency and scale incidents; contribute to RCA and mitigations.
• Collaborate with SRE, DB Reliability Engineers, Architects, QA, PMs, and Support to deliver secure, dependable software.
