Job summary

Kovoro is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Payments Platform to own end-to-end ledger primitives, idempotency, and reconciliation systems. You will work with Go, Postgres, and Temporal, partnering with Product, Risk, and Compliance to deliver audit-grade software.

The role emphasizes strong engineering rigor, design docs, and a clear path to Staff within 18–24 months, with ambitious 10x volume growth plans for the platform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience shipping production systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Go, Java, or another statically typed backend language.
• Deep experience with Postgres or another relational database — schema design, query optimization, transaction semantics.
• Comfort with distributed systems concerns: idempotency, exactly-once processing, eventual consistency.
• Prior fintech, payments, or financial infrastructure experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of ledger primitives, idempotency and reconciliation systems.
• Build bank integration adapters and ensure audit-grade software.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Compliance to ship financially correct systems.
• Operate with design docs, code reviews, on-call rotation, and incident retrospectives.
