Job summary

CSI is seeking an experienced Software Engineer III to design, code, test, and maintain backend systems with a strong emphasis on Node.js and TypeScript. This role focuses on scalable services, APIs, and data processing, requiring imagination and high programming standards.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of Node.js/TypeScript experience, backend architecture pattern knowledge, and demonstrated ownership from development through rollout.

Qualifications

• Accredited university education in applicable technology; advanced degrees preferred.
• 7+ years of experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including backend patterns and scalable services.
• Experience designing, coding, testing, debugging, maintaining, and documenting programs.
• Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, performance optimization, and scalability.
• Ability to own backend systems, services, or large-scale projects from development through rollout.
• Experience with Agile processes and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the development and rollout of backend systems, services, or large-scale projects.
• Enforce coding standards and back-end architecture patterns with emphasis on TypeScript usage and code quality.
• Demonstrate effective project management in delivering backend initiatives.
• Write technical specifications for backend systems and identify risks related to performance and scalability.
• Coach and mentor colleagues in Node.js and TypeScript best practices and Agile/CI/CD processes.
• Showcase deep backend engineering expertise and emerging Node.js technologies.
• Apply strong knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, asynchronous programming, API design, and data modeling.
• Provide proactive problem solving and thought leadership in backend system design and optimization.
• Mentor less experienced Software Engineers in backend practices.
