Apple in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Processing team, focusing on building scalable data-intensive systems and implementing NLP-based features.

The role requires 5+ years Java server-side, Spark experience, and NoSQL/Cassandra expertise. You will collaborate across teams to deliver solutions used by millions of customers and help shape next-gen technology at Apple.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of server-side Java utility development.
• Four+ years in statistical technologies or data-centric projects.
• Hands-on experience with NLP and mining of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
• Experience working with large datasets and pipelines, preferably using technologies such as Spark.
• Experience with Solr/Elastic Search, NoSQL/Cassandra and related technologies.
• Ability to understand, design, and explain complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of PC technologies and architectures; quick learner of new domains.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Passion for building great products.
• Strong communication skills.

• Data modeling experience.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience deploying microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.
