About the Role

As a Software Engineer - Backend, you will be part of an expanding Software team and will apply yourexpertiseto design, develop andmaintainbackend services for our medical device platform. You will have the opportunity to develop Fluxergy’s current software, enhancing its capability, improving securityfeatures,and tosupport system bring up and integration with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, andmaintainbackendapplications,APIs, and integrations for our medical device platform, ensuring compliance with relevant medical device regulations and standards.

• Lead technical discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software requirements.

• Architect andoptimizedatabase systems to store and manage critical medical data securely and efficiently.

• Implement robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions using modern software development best practices and technologies.

• Participate in and lead code and design reviews, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.

• Collaborate with front-end development teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services and APIs.

• Support platform development with cross-functional teams.

• Mentor junior team members andprovidetechnical guidance as needed.

• Create andmaintaininternal documentation and tools to support development, testing, and compliance efforts.

• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in medical device software development.

• Actively contribute to a positive, growth-oriented team culture.

What You'll Need to Have

• 5+ years of experience in Backend Engineering.

• 4+ years working with Databases and API design and implementation.

• 4+years of experience developing backend services or applications.

• Proficiencyin multiple server-side programming languages and frameworks. (Python,Javascript/Typescript,React, etc.)

• Proficiencywith RESTful APIs and server-side development.

• Strong experience with designing and implementing scalable and high-performance systems.

• Proficiencywith databases, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Proficiencywith continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and provide guidance to team members.

• Proficiencywith version control systems, preferably Git3

• Proficiencywith Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Proficiencywith unit testing, working experience withintegrationand verification testing.

• Understanding ofbackend performance optimization and best coding practices.

• Strong communicationand collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

• Proficiencywith Linux.

Strong plus if you:

• Hasexperience in electrical engineering.

• Experience with full-stack, firmware development,andboard bring up.

• Experience working within regulated industries (FDA).

• Working knowledge of data security and privacy standards such as HIPAA and GDPR.

Salary Range: $125,000-140,000/yr
