Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Backend to architect and implement scalable backend systems that power our charging and vehicle software platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust services from requirements through production.

You will contribute to code quality, participate in reviews, and continuously evaluate new libraries, tools, and technologies in an agile environment emphasizing teamwork, creativity, and innovation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong experience in Java/SpringBoot software development.
• Experience with microservices.
• Experience working with SQL/NoSQL Databases.
• Cloud knowledge (Azure or AWS).
• Kubernetes (EKS preferred) is a plus.
• Knowledge of event streaming platform such as Kafka or another platform is a plus.
• Expertise with git workflows and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Desire and ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience building Charging Station Management System is a plus.
• Knowledge of charging protocols – OCPP and OCPI is a plus.
• BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technology field
