Objective Partners in Chicago, IL area (Hybrid) is seeking a senior backend engineer to own scalable data infrastructure for real-time inventory configuration and audience targeting. You will address high-concurrency challenges, optimize pipelines, and contribute to reliability across global streaming platforms.

The role requires 6+ years of backend experience, proficiency in Python/Go/Scala, and strong SQL with cloud-native and containerized environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience building high-throughput systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Scala for development and debugging.
• Experience with distributed microservices and backend data pipelines.
• Solid SQL design and query optimization.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS or similar) for cloud-native apps.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and deployment systems.
• Strong Linux fundamentals, networking, and monitoring.
• Willingness to on-call for live events and platform ops.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a secondary escalation point for data infrastructure issues.
• Engineer and refine data platform components for throughput and high availability.
• Design automated utilities to streamline diagnostics and reduce manual work.
• Perform code-level debugging across distributed environments to remove bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with engineering, support, and partners to deliver scalable software.
• Participate in release lifecycles, including testing, deployment validation, and live monitoring.
