DraftKings in Boston is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the technology powering DraftKings Exchange, a new market at the intersection of technology, finance, and entertainment. You will develop backend services that are fast, reliable, and scalable for real-time trading.

As part of an early team, you’ll influence architecture and engineering standards, mentor peers, and address complex challenges that come with launching a new market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Expertise in C#/.NET.
• Experience with distributed systems for high-throughput apps.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in trading platforms or high-frequency systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services powering financial exchange functionality.
• Develop distributed systems for high-volume, low-latency processing and real-time market activity.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Trading Ops, and Engineering teams to deliver new features and capabilities for the exchange.
• Contribute to architecture and evolution of core platform services, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Optimize system performance through thoughtful design, profiling, testing, and improvements.
• Establish engineering best practices through code reviews and mentorship.
• Identify and resolve production challenges while improving observability and monitoring.
