Job summary

Gridware is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Field Software team in San Francisco. You will build backend services, APIs, and data pipelines powering how Gridware manages field assets and devices throughout their lifecycle.

You will shape asset data modeling for utilities and scale systems used by field crews, customers, and other engineering teams. This role requires strong backend, GraphQL, and distributed systems expertise with a direct tie to real-world field operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and PostgreSQL with live production DB changes.
• Experience designing production GraphQL APIs and data pipelines.
• Experience deploying and operating services in AWS and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own backend services for devices and field assets.
• Build GraphQL APIs for offline-first mobile apps.
• Develop reliable data pipelines and integrations for utilities.
• Design data models for grid infrastructure and assets.
• Own systems end to end from architecture to production operations.
• Collaborate with Field Operations, Product, Data, and other teams.
• Contribute to architecture decisions as grids scale.
