Job summary

Hinge is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud services powering millions of users. You will own significant portions of the software stack, write high-quality code, and contribute to monetization strategies within a diverse, cross-functional team.

You will work on RESTful API design, microservices on Kubernetes, and distributed systems in Go, patterning cloud-native solutions while participating in on-call rotations and architectural discussions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend/service engineering experience.
• 6+ years in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Strong programming skills in Go; Python is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build RESTful APIs for mobile clients.
• Participate in backend On-Call rotation (1 week every 8–11 weeks).
• Design and build microservices on Kubernetes.
• Develop distributed systems in Go using cloud infrastructure.
• Own the technical design, implementation, and success of projects.
• Collaborate across teams to promote inclusive, cross-functional communication.
