Job summary

Nitra is seeking a Backend Engineer with fintech or marketplace experience to help deliver innovative banking and SaaS products for millions of US businesses. You will work on APIs, databases, and scalable backend features, align with an ambitious product roadmap, and thrive in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment.

Qualifications

Deep experience with and understanding of JavaScript/Node.js/Express.js in fintech or marketplace contexts.
Strong API design and backend development experience.
Database design, especially PostgreSQL.
Ability to architect scalable backend systems for fintech products.

Responsibilities

Independently communicate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve customer-reported issues.
Design database schemas and APIs for small-to-medium scoped features.
Implement features following internal engineering principles and guidelines.
Provide estimates for their own work and communicate progress and risks proactively to the team.
