Job summary

NUABLE, based in New York City, is seeking a backend software engineer for a hybrid role (4-5 days on-site). The position focuses on building a core financial engine, workflow orchestration, and scalable models in a fintech environment.

Ideal candidates have 6–12 years of backend experience, strong system design skills, and the ability to deliver maintainable, high-integrity software. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years’ experience as a backend software engineer.
• Experience designing and delivering complex distributed systems.
• Building software where accuracy and correctness are business critical (financial services, billing, trading platforms or similar).
• Strong system design and modelling skills.
• Turning complex business requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions.
• Leading technical initiatives from design through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Designing and extending a proprietary financial calculation engine and expression language.
• Building workflow orchestration systems for complex, multi-stage financial processes.
• Developing configurable allocation and waterfall models that support sophisticated investment structures.
• Creating scalable abstractions capable of supporting a wide variety of customer requirements.
• Collaborating closely with domain experts to translate complex financial concepts into elegant software solutions.
• Improving execution performance, tooling, observability and system reliability.
