Job summary

Embedded Shishya is seeking a backend-first full stack engineer to own end-to-end development of FastAPI services, REST APIs, and member-facing surfaces across web and mobile platforms in a regulated healthcare environment. You will design scalable backend domains, API contracts for AI consumption and EMR integrations, and collaborate with frontend teams on API contracts and debugging.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional development experience.
• 2+ years production Python backend (FastAPI/Django/Flask).
• RESTful APIs powering D2C web and mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable FastAPI services and RESTful APIs across auth, scheduling, payments, insurance, messaging, and clinical workflows.
• Build APIs for AI consumption with well-documented, secure endpoints for AI agents and internal tools.
• Contribute to member-facing web (TypeScript, React, Next.js) and support iOS/Android teams on API contracts and integration debugging.
• Architect PostgreSQL schemas (RDS/Aurora), write Alembic migrations, and optimize queries; use Redis for performance.
• Implement async workflows with Celery, RabbitMQ, and Redis for webhooks and background processing.
• Monitor and debug production systems using Datadog and Sentry.
• Write pytest and frontend tests; manage Playwright E2E tests and CI/CD.
