Job summary

Baseten is hiring a founding member of the identity and authorization team. You will own the authorization layer, credential systems, and admin experiences for enterprise IT teams accessing Baseten. You’ll design a fine-grained authorization platform to support high-throughput, secure workflows for major customers.

You’ll shape policy, implement low-latency checks, and drive secure, scalable access as Baseten grows its platform and ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience building production backend systems with per-resource or similar authorization.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from design to production rollout.
• Experience operating multi-tenant systems at scale with low-latency checks.
• Comfort across the full stack, including cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead identity and authorization projects from problem definition through iteration.
• Design authorization models and credential schemes for enterprise workflows.
• Partner with product/design/customer teams to translate security requirements into robust solutions.
• Establish engineering practices for quality, observability, and ownership.
• Provide technical leadership as the team grows.
