Job summary

DICE is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale our platforms for live entertainment, across fans, venues and artists. The role centers on Elixir-based services, distributed systems, and scalable architecture in a high-traffic environment.

You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into robust implementations. Our stack leverages GraphQL/REST, Docker/Kubernetes, GitHub, and Drone CI to ship reliable features.

Qualifications

• Extensive production experience with Elixir, OTP and Phoenix.
• Experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions within a team.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop complex, high-load backend systems written in Elixir.
• Lead technical discussions with Product Managers, Engineers and Designers to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote technical excellence.
• Identify bottlenecks in ticketing and event management systems and design scalable solutions.
• Champion best practices in testing, documentation and maintainability across the engineering org.
