Job summary

Wonder is seeking a product-minded Senior Software Engineer for our backend team to build the brains of our automated restaurants. You will design and expand real-time distributed systems using Elixir and the Phoenix framework to connect cloud services, on-site robotics, and frontend applications.

Collaborate with product, design, and operations, mentor engineers, and ensure reliability and performance in live production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building highly concurrent, distributed systems and shipping them to production.
• Strong system design skills with product-focused mindset and owning features end-to-end.
• Proficiency in Elixir and Phoenix framework (or experience in other functional languages).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Experience designing WebSocket events, REST APIs, webhooks, and message-based systems.
• Experience deploying infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
