Job summary

Zanskar seeks a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer to own the next-generation multi-physics well-targeting engine in Salt Lake City. You will lead distributed systems, scale a research-focused compute platform, and collaborate with geophysicists, geoscientists and engineers to solve hard subsurface modeling problems.

You will mentor others, learn from peers, and advance software practice across CI/CD, cloud resources, and data storage. Hybrid work in Salt Lake City area is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years experience in software engineering in a business environment, ideally with a heavy scientific component.
• Experience leading the design and implementation of distributed computing systems.
• Proven technical skills: fault-tolerant architectures, scalable cloud workloads, data storage at scale, observability, and IaC practices.
