Job summary

HubSpot’s Reporting Platform Team is seeking a senior backend engineer to build and evolve core reporting infrastructure that powers dashboards, analytics, and insights across HubSpot Hubs. You will design APIs and services that enable customizable dashboards and embedded analytics, while collaborating with product teams to weave reporting into customer workflows.

You’ll tackle data modeling, aggregation, and performance challenges at scale, mentor peers, and explore AI-enabled reporting

Qualifications

5+ years of experience working on backend systems, preferably in analytics, data infrastructure, or reporting products.
Experience in distributed systems and service‑oriented architecture.
Build scalable data pipelines or APIs (Java, Kotlin, or similar).
Collaborates with cross‑functional teams and focuses on product‑driven engineering decisions.
Mentor peers and influence technical direction.
Interest in using AI and building AI products.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve core reporting infrastructure to support fast, flexible reporting across massive datasets.
Design APIs and backend services for customizable dashboards, visualizations, and embedded analytics.
Collaborate with product teams to integrate reporting capabilities into customer workflows across the platform.
Address performance, data modeling, aggregation, and filtering challenges at scale.
Contribute to reusable components and tools for data access, transformation, and visualization.
Leverage AI to enhance both customer-facing and internally-facing reporting capabilities.
