Job summary

Agility Partners is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a client team building a cloud-native backend platform from the ground up. The role focuses on designing and implementing distributed systems, APIs, and services at scale, with emphasis on AI-powered customer experiences and personalization.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in enterprise backend development, deep Java expertise, and strong experience with microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern DevOps

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building enterprise-scale backend applications and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on Java development with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Deep understanding of system architecture, event-driven design patterns, and service integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (TDD).
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
• Experience leveraging AI tools across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale cloud-native backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate opportunities into scalable solutions.
• Drive architecture decisions, platform strategy, and technical planning.
• Build orchestration layers and integrations supporting AI-powered experiences, personalization, and recommendations.
• Implement best practices for automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and software quality.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to improve productivity and delivery outcomes.
