Job summary

Quidient is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own the backend systems and cloud infrastructure powering our GSR Platform. You will oversee the API layer, cloud architecture, and backend services moving 3D scene data from capture to delivery.

This hybrid role requires easy commute to the Technology Center in Columbia, MD, and adherence to security requirements including background checks. Proficiency in Python/Node.js, AWS, Docker, and CI/CD is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4 years of backend/API experience in production.
• Strong AWS application-layer experience (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, EC2, ECS/EKS).
• Docker/containerized deployments and microservices.
• Strong Python and/or Node.js in production.
• CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve backend API layer for partners and apps.
• Design and maintain microservice architectures for 3D data flow.
• Build and operate AWS-based cloud infrastructure with reliability and cost focus.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot to maintain uptime.
• Implement secure authentication and data protection.
• Collaborate with platform engineering manager and teams.
• Address technical debt and scalability gaps.
