Job summary

ClickHouse is seeking backend engineers with experience in data-intensive systems. You’ll build and operate distributed services powering data ingestion, with Go as a core tool and cloud-native architecture across major providers.

You will own design decisions, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure scalability and reliability of the ClickPipes ingestion platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Go and its ecosystem.
• Experience designing systems for scalability and fault tolerance.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture and practical experience with major cloud providers.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in distributed systems.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate across engineering and product teams.
• Experience with data ingestion pipelines, streaming platforms, or object storage is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve integrations with streaming platforms and object storage, including Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Continuously improve our systems based on operational metrics, customer feedback, and evolving business requirements.
• Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that impact our platform's scalability and resilience.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and respond to production incidents.

About the Team

The ClickPipes team builds the services that power data ingestion into ClickHouse Cloud. As a primary entry point for customers’ data, ClickPipes is critical to product adoption and the company’s growth. We work at petabyte scale, solving challenges in distributed systems, fault tolerance, and high-throughput ingestion. You’ll help make these pipelines performant, reliable, and easy to operate, with ownership of technical decisions and the platform as a whole.

We’re looking for backend engineers with experience in data-intensive systems who enjoy working across technologies. You’ll collaborate with engineering and product partners and drive projects from design through production.

What will you do?

• Build and evolve integrations with streaming platforms and object storage, including Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage.

• Experience with data ingestion pipelines, streaming platforms, or object storage is a plus.
