Job summary

Comcast Advertising seeks a Backend Software Engineer to join the Reston hybrid team. The role focuses on building and maintaining a high-quality video advertising platform, collaborating across product, operations, and engineering to deliver scalable features.

Ideal candidates have deep experience in C/C++, Golang, and distributed systems, with a strong grounding in network programming and DB design. A BS degree and passion for learning are expected.

Qualifications

Extensive experience with C/C++/Golang, DB design and network programming.
Experience with large system software design and distributed systems is preferred.
Strong problem solving and technical innovation.
Knowledgeable about SDLC, Agile and Software Engineering Methodology.
Advertising industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements.
Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications.
Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.
Mentors junior level software engineers and provides technical leadership.
Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
