Job summary

International in Lisle, IL is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Commerce & Integrations team toOwn the integration layer between the eCommerce platform and Dealer Management Systems. You will design REST APIs, implement order workflows, and ship production-grade backend code at a fast pace.

You will collaborate with Product Owner and Platform Architect, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes deployments while optimizing data models for B2B commerce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years in software engineering or Master’s with 3+ years and lead experience.
• Experience building and shipping production backend code in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong REST API design and implementation for system integrations across distributed components.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and ship production backend code every sprint — REST API endpoints, business logic, and integration components.
• Design and implement order workflow logic (state machines) for order-to-cash, returns, and core-charge handling.
• Own backend user stories end-to-end: design, implementation, tests, PR review, and deployment.
• Diagnose and resolve backend performance issues, latency spikes, and data consistency problems.
• Build and maintain integrations between our commerce platform and DMS (CDK, Procede, SAP, Karmak) — adapters and data mapping.
• Implement data ingestion pipelines from PIM and fitment data sources, including validation and indexing.
