LangChain is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join LangSmith, building backend systems powering observability and evaluation for AI apps at scale. You will design and maintain core services, APIs, and data pipelines, collaborating with frontend and PMs to deliver robust features.

The role emphasizes backend development with potential exposure to full-stack work, performance tuning, and production debugging to ensure reliability and scalability for our customers worldwide.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience on complex products.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and building reliable APIs.
• Experience with high-throughput, mission-critical systems and performance tuning.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Postgres, Redis, ClickHouse and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for LangSmith's tracing, monitoring, and evaluation workflows.
• Collaborate on architectural decisions to ensure performance and maintainability.
• Optimize storage and query performance for large-scale observability data.
• Ensure reliability with strong testing, monitoring, and alerting practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis with long-term fixes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design and API references.
• Work with full-stack engineers, product managers, and designers to roll out new features.
