Job summary

Qrypt is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own the services behind our quantum security products. You will lead the design and development of backend software — primarily in Rust — that moves quantum entropy and keys, and powers our entropy-as-a-service platform.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across teams, and push for high-reliability, high-performance services at scale while shaping AI-assisted development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in computer science or related field.
• 6+ years building and shipping backend software with end-to-end ownership.
• Expertise in Rust or deep systems programming with ability to work primarily in Rust.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and testing of backend services and APIs in Rust.
• Own significant backend end-to-end architecture, implementation, reliability, and performance.
• Document design tradeoffs and raise the bar on code quality and testing.
• Work close to the metal to deliver quantum entropy and keys securely at scale.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling while ensuring correctness of all shipped work.
• Shape how the team adopts AI-assisted development practices.
• Develop domain understanding of quantum random number generation and cryptography.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across hardware, product, and engineering teams.
