Job summary

Goliath Partners Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help architect and build the core infrastructure powering our AI-enabled enterprise platform. You will work on distributed systems, cloud services, identity and access infrastructure, and integrations with major enterprise apps.

This role offers technical ownership from design through deployment, with emphasis on security, scalability, and reliable backend systems within a hybrid work setup in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in backend software development, distributed systems, cloud engineering, or infrastructure development.
• Experience building and maintaining production software systems with focus on scalability, security, performance and reliability.
• Experience managing technical projects through the full software engineering lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate challenges and develop effective engineering solutions.
• Ability to work across multiple areas of backend infrastructure and contribute to architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and optimize scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Develop and enhance identity and access management capabilities, including authentication and tenant isolation.
• Design and implement integrations with enterprise apps and communication services (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, etc.).
• Create robust APIs and backend services enabling secure interaction with external applications.
• Lead engineering initiatives from planning through deployment and production support.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve platform stability, scalability, and security.
