Job summary

VeryAI is seeking a Senior Engineer to own core platform components behind Proof of Reality. You will set technical direction with the Head of Engineering, take rough briefs to shipped, monitored systems, and maintain high standards in a fraud‑prone biometrics product.

Our backend runs on Go with TypeScript/React, and we leverage AI tools daily. You will build, harden, and scale services end-to-end, defining data models, APIs, and security strategies, while mentoring teammates and ensuring

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software with ownership after launch.
• Deep experience in Go or a comparable backend language, plus TypeScript and React.
• Strong API and data modeling judgment including migrations on live systems.
• Experience building and running scalable, cloud-based applications.
• Ability to debug across service boundaries with logs, metrics, traces, and source code.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and reviewing AI-generated code critically.
• Track record of taking a product from zero to one and scaling it.
• Clear written and verbal communication of tradeoffs, progress, and blockers.

Responsibilities

• Own services end to end from design through rollout, monitoring, and documentation.
• Set architectural direction on data models, APIs, and security/privacy tradeoffs.
• Turn rough briefs into shipped, maintainable systems.
• Build and harden backend services and front-end experiences as the product scales.
• Provide visibility through dashboards, metrics, and alerts.
• Ship developer portal and partner APIs enabling integrations.
• Leverage AI agents for routine tasks like debugging and migrations while improving reliability.
• Review designs and code with a critical eye, including AI-generated code.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and documentation.
