Job summary

Navan is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) for its AI-first engineering team to design and scale a next-generation corporate expense platform. You will work on backend systems powering payments, issuing platforms, and accounting integrations.

You will collaborate across global teams to deliver production-ready features with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Engineering is required, and experience with Java, Spring Boot,

Qualifications

Experience building scalable backend systems for high-growth environments.
Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with JVM performance understanding.
Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
Experience leveraging cloud platforms like AWS for deployment and scaling.
Knowledge of building and maintaining production-ready services, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
Exposure to AI-driven development or AI model integration is a plus.

Responsibilities
