Job summary

Selector Software in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own backend systems, ETL pipelines, and data models. You will apply agentic AI workflows and lead technically while delivering production-grade code in Python and Go.

You will partner with customers to understand their data and environments, mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and lead end-to-end deployments of the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-7 years of professional experience owning systems end-to-end.
• Strong Python skills with ETL experience; Ansible or Go experience a plus.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring engineers or setting direction.
• Solid knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis; Jupyter a plus.
• Experience with agentic AI workflows and real-world engineering problems.
• Excellent communication, and ability to work with customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and maintain production-grade Python/Go code for ETL pipelines, data models, and platform integrations.
• Apply agentic AI workflows to automate data engineering, correlation, and root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture and design decisions for backend systems.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, reviewing code and raising the bar.
• Build backend logic connecting Selector's platform to customer data sources and APIs.
• Work with customers to translate complex data structures into technical solutions.
• Lead integration and deployment of the platform to meet customer requirements.
• Drive pre-sales activities and PoCs in collaboration with the sales team.
• Document customer feedback and translate it into product/engineering improvements.
