Job summary

Webshare, part of Source, is seeking a backend engineer to build high-performance APIs powering a global proxy platform. You’ll own services handling billions of requests, collaborate in an autonomous remote-friendly team, and push observability and cost-efficiency improvements.

We value strong OOP experience, API design skills, and comfort with distributed systems, async architectures, and networking basics.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in at least one OOP language.
• Ability to work with industry standard AI tools (LLMs) while balancing code quality and speed, but never compromising on reliability and architecture.
• Ability to work in a programming language agnostic environment; eager to learn and grow backend skills, including Python.
• Comfortable working in an infrastructure heavy environment.
• Proven experience designing and scaling APIs.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and async architectures.
• Willingness to understand deep networking concepts (BGP, CIDR, ASNs).
• Fluent English (international team).
• Can handle working with a remote team (we're worldwide).

In this role, you’ll:

• Gross salary: 6 000 - 7 200 EUR/month gross + quarterly KPI-based performance bonus. Keep in mind that we are open to discussing a different salary based on your skills and experience.
