Job summary

MyOme, Inc. is seeking an experienced backend engineer to join our integrations and portals team, building secure APIs and customer-facing features for ordering genetic testing.

You will work on scalable backend services, collaborate with a distributed team, and help translate complex genetics results into actionable insights. The role offers remote work in the US or hybrid with 2-3 days onsite at our San Francisco office, with a salary range of $160,000 to $200,000 and equity eligibility.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in backend or platform software development.
• 2+ years of healthcare/biotech experience.
• Proficient in Python and Python-based frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Ninja).
• Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade APIs and web applications.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization systems.
• Knowledgeable about genetics and genetic testing platforms.
• Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
• Performance engineering experience, including instrumentation, profiling, and optimization.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare software, or other privacy-focused frontends.

Position Overview:

MyOme is looking for an experienced and pragmatic individual to join our integrations and portals team. This position will help enable patients and healthcare providers order testing through the MyOme platform, delivering clarity and meaningful health insights from complex genetics results. The successful candidate will demonstrate first-hand knowledge of designing secure, well-architected applications, familiarity with healthcare systems and data, and have an eagerness to build value through fast prototyping and iteration.

Location, Compensation, and Benefits:

• Location: Remote in the US or open to hybrid, 2 to 3 days onsite at our San Francisco office.
• Compensation: Annual salary range of $160,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience. This role is eligible for equity.
