About the role

• Lead project teams and provide direction as one of the first engineering hires
• Define priorities, suggest solutions, and excel at implementation across large codebases
• Work on distributed systems touching many parts of our healthcare automation platform
• Drive projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
• Build API design, implementation, and documentation for enterprise clients

Skills required

• Technical: Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, and Python
• Systems: Understanding of distributed systems, reliability/performance tradeoffs
• DevOps: Experience with CI/CD systems and good DevOps practices (nice to have)
• Tools: Experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) and Git
• Quality: Excellent documentation and testing habits

• A project lead at a scaling startup who's defined requirements and self-directed across large codebases
• A generalist engineer with experience across many areas (K8s, microservices, distributed architectures)
• Self-directed with experience leading engineering projects from start to finish
