Mission Staffing is seeking a Backend Engineer to help turn complex, unstructured financial documents into data that powers real client decisions. The role intersects with LLMs, document parsing, and backend architecture, with an opportunity to build something technically hard and commercially meaningful from the ground up.

You will build and maintain APIs, databases, and infrastructure powering a growing suite of applications; partner with Product and Engineering to ship high-performance

Qualifications

• 7+ years backend engineering experience in startup/financial/tech.
• Strong Python fundamentals with FastAPI.
• Solid GraphQL and REST API design knowledge.
• Experience with databases and data warehouses.
• Hands-on DevOps including CI/CD and QA practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Self-directed with strong communication bridging technical and non-technical teams.

• Build and maintain the APIs, databases, and infrastructure powering a growing suite of applications
• Partner with Product and Engineering (Frontend, Data Platform, Infrastructure) to scope and ship high-performance features
• Own and evolve a scalable backend architecture strategy built to last for years, not quarters
• Collaborate cross-functionally in an Agile environment using modern project management practices

Requirements / Qualifications:

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience at a startup, financial institution, or tech company
• Strong Python fundamentals, especially with FastAPI
• Solid working knowledge of GraphQL and REST API design
• Comfort with databases and data warehouses
• Hands-on DevOps experience, including CI/CD and QA practices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Self-directed, with strong communication skills bridging technical and non-technical teams
