Our client in Pasadena, CA is seeking an Application Developer to join the Software Development Department. The hybrid role (3x onsite) focuses on backend systems using Java 17/21 and Python, with Kafka data pipelines and AWS cloud integration.

You will collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions and ensure quality through testing. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of backend experience, expertise in Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS, plus SQL/NoSQL proficiency and familiarity with AI tools

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend design and deployment experience.
• Extensive Java (17/21), Python, and RESTful API development with Spring Boot.
• Proven ability to design and manage scalable data pipelines with Apache Kafka.
• Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience: Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway.
• Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge; familiarity with AI tools and LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend applications using Java 17/21 and Python.
• Build and maintain high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines with Kafka.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical specs and align on goals.
• Leverage AWS services to improve performance and security of applications.
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies, including unit and integration tests.
