Job summary

CMiT is seeking a Senior Backend Developer (AWS) to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performing solutions for federal missions.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with Node.js, React, AWS services, and backend development, and thrives in an agile, collaborative environment. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with Node.js
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with React
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including: AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Amazon S3, EventBridge, Kinesis
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with AWS cloud tools and services
• Minimum 1 year of experience writing SQL and working with relational databases
• Strong understanding of complex business processes and the systems that support them
• Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Passion for solving complex software challenges and delivering high-quality solutions
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that support critical federal missions.

The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with deep experience in modern JavaScript technologies, AWS cloud services, and backend application development. You will play a key role in building secure, high-performing solutions while contributing to an agile and collaborative development environment.

Clearance Requirement

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Preference will be given to candidates with an active or recent ICE or CBP clearance.

• Experience developing Single Page Applications (SPA)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including:
  • Git
  • Jenkins
  • CloudBees
  • React Testing Library
  • Jest
• Experience working with both relational databases and DynamoDB
• Experience supporting federal government IT programs
