Job summary

Capital Technology Group seeks a Technical Lead to guide the design, development, and modernization of mission-critical federal software systems. This senior leader will drive backend architecture, systems thinking, and scalable, secure applications across complex enterprise environments.

You will mentor engineers, lead API design with REST and GraphQL, collaborate with product, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams, and advance cloud modernization with AWS or Azure while ensuring secure delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, including enterprise application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, OpenJDK, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and scalable enterprise apps.
• Cloud-native apps in AWS or Azure; CI/CD and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise software systems for federal missions.
• Drive full SDLC from architecture to deployment across complex environments.
• Build scalable, secure backend applications using best practices.
• Architect and develop APIs with REST and GraphQL.
• Lead design discussions, reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams.
• Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards and best practices.
• Support secure software delivery, testing automation, and CI/CD integration.
• Translate mission requirements into technical implementation strategies.
