Job summary

DV Trading seeks an experienced software developer to join a small team responsible for the back-office systems used by traders, risk management, and accounting. You will work with engineers, risk, and traders on real-time and batch data processing, design robust data pipelines, and own scheduled processing with strict deadlines.

The role emphasizes Python expertise, SQL/PostgreSQL, Airflow, CI/CD, automated testing, and collaboration with non-engineers.

Qualifications

• Senior professional level Python: typing, packaging, concurrency, profiling, and performance tuning.
• Production ownership of scheduled and batch data systems with hard deadlines (start-of-day and end-of-day processing).
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, query tuning, data integrity controls.
• Workflow orchestration experience (Airflow or equivalent) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Quality discipline: automated testing, code review, incident response, runbooks, post-incident follow-through.
• Fluency with Atlassian tooling (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Practical experience applying AI: LLM APIs for automation or analysis with human review.
• Clear written and verbal communication with non-engineers: operations, accounting, settlements, middle office staff.
• Ability to mentor junior and mid-level developers and make sound design decisions independently.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers, risk, accounting, and traders to enable real-time and batch data processing.
• Generate daily reports for firm and traders from overnight data.
• Design and use database schemas to facilitate data processing.
• Monitor daily jobs to ensure timely dissemination of vital information.
• Ensure real-time trade data flows to risk management and traders.
