We are looking for a talented Back End Software Engineer - Biologics (Java, Vert.x) to join our Signals Software team, building our next generation cloud notebook application. You will be focused on the back-end design and development of our cloud notebook product, helping turn marketing requirements into an easy to use and elegant application designed for the scientific community.

*Experience in Biologics is most desired

You Will:

• Collaborate with fellow team members on priorities, specifications, and feature implementation
• Craft well-documented, clean, and tested code
• Create secure, performant interfaces and services
• Build and maintain new, high-impact functionality into Signals Platform
• Work with cloud services and technologies AWS, S3, Queues

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional Backend Software Development work experience
• Exceptional Java programming skills
• REST API development using Vert.x
• Experience building web services and restful APIs
• Experience in writing JUnit and automation test case for REST API development
• Exposure to JSON open API Standards
• Event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science
• Biologics experience is highly desirable
• Experience working with JDBC in a transactional application (using any RDBMS but preferably PostgreSQL)
• Expert on design patterns and database design
• An awareness of performance implications of different queries and inserts/updates
• Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams
• Thorough understanding of and experience with structured software development methodologies including design, development, and testing in an Agile environment
• Excellent work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result
• Entrepreneurial minded, creative problem solver, and innovative thinker
• Life science experience a plus
